Benton Franklin Fair Master Plan

K/O was secured to evaluate the aging facilities at the existing fairgrounds and make recommendations about how the fairgrounds could best be situated for successful future growth.  Partnering options with other community organizations were considered, as well as maintaining as a strictly agricultural venue.  All alternatives were studied including the option of relocating the land-locked fair into a rural setting with space to expand.  K/O developed a model program and schematic “Relocation” Master Plan along with a high-level cost estimate to determine if this would be a viable direction.  The proposed master plan was based around defining a clear circulation route.  Some of the facilities proposed for the new fairgrounds included large exhibition buildings, a rodeo arena with stock pens and grandstands, ag education buildings, several year-round rental spaces, and outdoor entertainment zones.
