Master Plan – Fairgrounds – Entertainment

K/O was retained to Master Plan the Northwest Washington County Fairgrounds. The goal of the study was to find more room for an expanded equine center, and the need to make overall character enhancements to the fairgrounds. The resulting plan ended up achieving that and much more. Additional potential land acquisitions were identified on the southern extent of the property and a location was identified for a future 4,000 seat, 80,000sf entertainment venue.

K/O worked closely with the Fair Board and Manager to develop a plan that was not only achievable but affordable. This was done through prioritization of the budget over a phased multi-year approach. Pieces included in the initial phases of the plan are already starting to be implemented and some portions of the plan are already being revisited and reworked to fit the fair’s changing needs.
